Regular Board Meeting

The meeting was called to order by Mr. Doug Forrest with the roll taken (see above).

Others present at the meeting were Jimmy Cunningham, Superintendent; Kerry Cunningham, Principal; and Sharon Hamilton.

Motion: Mr. Kevin Milligan moved to approve the minutes of the last regular and special board meetings (April 19 and 29, 2004).

Second: The motion was seconded by Mr. Stacy Lisenbey.

Vote: Unanimous

Motion: Mr. Mike Sawyer moved to approve the financial report.

Second: The motion was seconded by Mr. Stacy Lisenbey.

Vote: Unanimous

Motion: Mr. Mike Sawyer moved to donate to the City of Plainview a Ford tractor model #1710, VIN # UL02028 and

A six-foot lawn mower, brand name Keen Kutter, model 1995-030551.

Second: The motion was seconded by Mr. Kevin Milligan.

Vote: Unanimous

Motion: Mr. Mike Sawyer moved to approve the 2002-03 audit recently conducted by Mr. Charlie Fore.

Second: The motion was seconded by Mr. Stacy Lisenbey.

Vote: Unanimous

The Board went into executive session to discuss personnel.

Motion: Mr. Mike Sawyer moved to allow Jimmy Cunningham to participate in all activities of the Arkansas Rural Education as needed by that organization and other professional organizations (listed on his contract). Professional leave will be used when attending meetings.

Second: The motion was seconded by Mr. Stacy Lisenbey.

Vote: Unanimous.

Motion: Mr. Mike Sawyer moved to raise the superintendent’s salary 7.5%.

Motion died for lack of a second.

Motion: Mr. Kevin Milligan moved to table Mike Sawyer’s previous motion until the June board meeting.

Second: The motion was seconded by Mr. Mike Sawyer.

Vote: For: Mike Sawyer, Doug Forrest, and Kevin Milligan

Against: Stacy Lisenbey, Ty Whitlow

Motion: Mr. Mike Sawyer moved to add additional policies to the student handbook.

Second: The motion was seconded by Mr. Kevin Milligan.

Vote: Unanimous.

Motion: Mr. Kevin Milligan moved to hire the following as summer workers:

Pat Benefield – Summer Feeding Program - $8.43/hr.

Joyce Agnew – Supervisor of Summer Workers - $7.50/hr.

Daniel Baker – Summer Worker - $7.00/hr.

Tyler Wilson – Summer Worker - $7.00/hr.

Andrea Agnew – Summer Worker - $7.00/hr.

Courtney Christian – Summer Worker - $7.00/hr.

Chastity Arnold – Summer Worker - $7.00/hr.

Second: The motion was seconded by Mr. Mike Sawyer.

Vote: Unanimous
