Discover The Many Unique Advantages Of
Ozark DivingThe water never freezes
over in Bull Shoals Lake so you can dive year round. Average winter water
temperature is in the 50's, in the spring its in the 70's, and in the
summer its in the 80's. Visibility is excellent and is typically 20 to 40
feet minimum. There's a nine month spearfishing season for walleye,
crappie, and catfish, with year round spearfishing for gar, carp, and drum.
Exciting dive sites, like 200' rock walls pockmarked with caverns,
huge underwater forests of oak and hickory, long gravel points scattered
with fish, hundreds of man-made brush piles holding a wide variety of fish,
and sunken farm implements make diving in Bull Shoals Lake a true adventure.
Special Events & Instruction
Every July we hold a spearfishing tournament.
This year it will be held on Saturday, July 19. Every Friday night
during the summer we run a pontoon boat for night diving conducted
by "Johnnie the Armadillo, our dive instructor (who's real name is
Johnnie Arellano). We rent masks, fins, snorkels, tanks, regulators,
compensators, belts, spear guns, and wet suits. And we refill tanks.
We conduct a wide range of dive courses including 4 day open water,
rescue diver, 2 day advanced open water,
dive master, advanced plus, and a four-hour
introductory course. We conduct several guided day and night tours on
Bull Shoals Lake. If you are with a law enforcement group, search &
rescue group, or other professional organization that needs training and
certification on a regular basis, we offer contract and group rates. We can
provide boats, diving gear, lodging, meals, and shuttle services for your
organization. We also offer houseboat rental packages for divers. Please
request our current brochure for details. At right is Dive Shop
